First-Time Homebuyers

The City of Avenal's Homebuyer Assistance program offers affordable secondary mortgage financing to first-time homebuyers. The program is designed to provide the additional financing needed to keep a first mortgage payment affordable. Qualified homebuyers may be eligible for zero-interest, deferred payment loans. Housing Rehabilitation Program

The Housing Rehabilitation Program offers qualified low-income homeowners the opportunity to make repairs or rehabilitate their home. These repairs can include, but are not limited to: handicap accessibility, roofing, and plumbing and electrical. Zero to low-interest rate loans and grants are offered to qualifying homeowners. Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Loan Program

The Accessory Dwelling Unit Loan Program offers qualified owner-occupied homeowners the opportunity to build a new ADU or repair an existing ADU within the City limits of the City of Avenal. The property must contain a legal residential structure for continued residential occupancy by the property owner.
